About the Series
What does making babies have to do with the environment?
Drawing on interviews and their experiences as social anthropologists reading and writing across academic disciplines, Katie Dow and Janelle Lamoreaux present a series of three episodes on the sociology of reproduction.
The series will explore debates about global population growth and environmental justice; the importance of concerns about future generations in environmental activism; and technological attempts to reproduce endangered and extinct species. In Future Generations, Dow and Lamoreaux show that reproduction and the environment are intimately connected, in multiple, and sometimes unexpected, ways.
This programme is authored by Dr. Katie Dow and Dr. Janelle Lamoreaux, University of Cambridge, and co-produced with The Arts & Culture Unit.
It will be broadcast as part of the second series of Modulations: Broadcasting Research in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, on Resonance 104.4fm.
